Home About Us

The Colorado Water Garden Society (CWGS) is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization formed in 1983 to encourage a greater appreciation and interest in the use of water in the landscape. As the first established water garden society in the world, the mission of the society is to provide education about water gardening to the general public and to stimulate the study and culture of water plants.

Members receive CWGS' newsletter, "The Water Garden", published eight times each year. Each edition contains water gardening information especially for the Rocky Mountain Region.

The Society holds meetings and activities in and around Denver from March until early December. The date, time, and location of each meeting is announced in the newsletter and in the Event Calendar portion of our website.

We welcome all levels of expertise from novice to experienced. It's easy to JOIN!

A word from the President, Brenda Parsons-Hier
Welcome to the Colorado Water Garden Society (CWGS) web site.

As the first club devoted to water gardens, we have a long history of bringing people together who love to play in the water. The heart of our club is our people.

Volunteer and Learn...
CWGS has learning opportunities underway that we wanted to make you aware of. Each year the Society organizes volunteers for important water gardening projects at Denver Botanic Gardens
